October 31: Halloween dress up and fun in the AFTERNOON

November 1: NO SCHOOL: Professional Development for teachers

LABELS:

We are still collecting Box Tops for Education, School Spirit & Tyson labels.  Mrs. Huttenga has said that we are also collecting receipts from Holton’s LP Gas.  Just save and send them in!  We will keep track of the rest.  Thanks so much!

MOVIE NIGHT:
The Parent Action Committee is hosting a family movie night on the night of November the 3^rd from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm.  There will be more info to come!

STUDENT OF THE WEEK:

Karen is our Student of the Week this week.  Karen loves playing soccer, going to school, reading, and playing outside!  She likes many different kinds of foods, and would like to become a great dancer one day.  Her favorite movie is Moana.  She is also looking forward to entering college.  J

HAPPY HALLWEEN:

We are planning our First-Grade Halloween Party for the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 31.  The children will start getting their costumes on around 12:20 p.m.  Then we will walk through the fourth grade “wax museums.”  After the wax museums, weather permitting; we will join the rest of the elementary in a costume parade down Main Street.  After the parade, we will then return to our classroom for some trail mix and a movie. 

HALLOWEEN COSTUME:

Only appropriate costumes allowed please.  No weapons are allowed, even if they came with your child’s costume.  Please keep in mind that we will most likely not have time to paint any faces either. 

HALLOWEEN SNACK:

I was thinking of having the students each bring in one to two cups of a trail mix type item for our Halloween snack.  You may send this on Monday, the 30^th so that I have time to mix it all together!  Some ideas for trail mix items might include M&M’s, popcorn, cereal, pretzels, caramel corn, Cheese-it type crackers, chocolate chips, and etc.

HALLOWEEN HELP:

Please let me know if you would like to join us for the afternoon.  I have one mother that has asked to join, and am happy to have a couple more!  Just let me know.  Thanks so much!

ESTUDIANTE DE LA SEMANA:

Karen es nuestra Estudiante de la semana esta semana. ¡A Karen le encanta jugar fútbol, ​​ir a la escuela, leer y jugar afuera!
